Madre is a social industry developed with the aim of tackling the problem of plastic bags and their consequent damaging effect on the planet.
The brand was born in Paraguay from an idea of María Nasta, founder and manager, thus becoming the first bioplastic industry in the country.
“Consciousness with Science” is the philosophy behind Madre, with sustainability as its main goal.
The company’s solution was to create bags with better packaging to solve the problem of the high level of single-use plastic waste.
Madre products are manufactured with a material called bioplastic from Europe, produced with raw materials, such as starch and vegetable oils.
Biodegradable and compostable bags
Indeed, the products launched on the market by the company are biodegradable and compostable bags of different types and sizes both for retail and home use.
Therefore, they appear to be an alternative to common plastic bags, which remain in the environment and pollutes it for centuries.
With her actions, Madre aims to work on 4 key aspects: circular economy, minimum carbon footprint, better environmental and social impact.
First of all, the company encourages the sustainable cycle of its compostable products.
The bags themselves are in fact capable of biodegrading through composting process within a period of 90 to 180 days, reintegrating into the soil, and nourishing it.
Besides, Madre products have an environmental impact of 80% less than a normal plastic product.
Environmentally speaking, the impact of products from their origin, their manufacturing process, and up to their proper disposal is minimal.
Finally, socially speaking, the company helps reduce greenhouse gases.
Therefore, this will result in a consequent improvement in air, water and soil quality, and a better quality of life for all.
Madre branded products
The bags manufactured by Madre are divided into 4 types, according to their shape and size.
They are identified with 4 names: camisilla (“tank top”-shaped), riñón, “bag”-like, and organic waste bag.
The bags cost 300 and 400 Paraguayan guaraní, equivalent to 0.038 and 0.050 euros, depending on the size. They’re presented in packs of 100, 500, and 1,000 units, which can be ordered directly from the company via Whatsapp or Email.
The bags can also be customised. In fact, you can print the logo of your company on both sides and in four colours.
